Women & Children

OUR WORK

This is an area that needs great attention.  There are many nations where women are degraded and abused and children are neglected. The Children are the future of any nation and they need also to be empowered in order to carry on and be effective in doing so.  There is a saying that the hand that rocks the cradle rules the world.  Women have the potential to influence change and children are the game-changers for the future.  However, the plight of these two groups are generally negated. RWOMI hosts Seminars and Mentorship Sessions geared toward empowering women, particularly, but not only, in the areas such as Personal Development, Women and Family Roles and Identifying Your Purpose.  We carry out Training in the areas of Parenting, Pregnancy Care as well as Home Health and Safety.

In addition to all this we are putting policies in place for Abused Women and Children, Adoption Policies for Neglected Children
When we think of a sister, brother or neighbor, immediately our thoughts go to someone close to us or physically close, with whom we share something common. Further to this, we may think of a neighbor as someone next door, or a friend, and possibly, by a stretch of the imagination, someone we physically pass by on a daily basis. However, I challenge you, that anyone who extends mercy to us or to whom we extend mercy, is our neighbor.
Orphan Home Kenya
WE NEED YOUR HELP URGENTLY!

These children are at an orphanage in Eldoret, Kenya and they are very malnourished.  They need urgent help.

Help us to feed and restore nourishment to these children!  We can make a difference right now, and have a significant impact on these young lives so filled with potential.  We can give them opportunity today for a better life and set them on the path to greatness, just by feeding them today.

Click on the DONATE button follow the instructions to donate, type ORPHKEN in the Special Instructions box and then send your donations in so they can get the much needed food and supplements needed to build and strengthen them.

You could be that one symbol of love they experience that will bring change and exemplify true love.

Let’s work together today and show some love!

Leveraging the power of ICTs for rural women and girls (CSW62 Side Event)
20 Mar 2018 - The session will showcase information and communication technologies (ICTs) policies, practices and initiatives that are working for rural women and girls. The goal is to raise awareness and inspire more governments and stakeholders to prioritize issues of ICT access for this key segment of the population, whose empowerment is vital for the achievement of the SDGs, but who currently are among the least connected. It will also highlight lessons learned, success factors and pitfall to avoid for impactful programmes on ICTs for rural women and girls. The session is a collaboration between UN entities and the mobile industry association and other organizations in support of EQUALS (equals.org): the Global Partnership for Gender Equality in the Digital Age.
