You can lose your job through redundancy, termination of employment, economical instability, retooling and restructuring, or act of victimization. These are more of the common names to actions that happen on a regular basis in today’s markets.
God wants you to understand that if you are affected by any of the above, it is not the end of the world for you. But it is the beginning of a new path.
God wants you to understand that your future or your source is never in your job or employment situation, but in God. Always remember that when one door close, there is an opportunity for a greater door to open. Jesus Christ is the door. John 10:7-9.
When one door closes, God is getting ready to open major doors for you. But to enter that major door, there is always a hallway between one door to the other.
To enter into that door quickly, your attitude, behavior and obedience is your key. The hallway will decide on who enters the new door. So, God will watch you on a daily basis to see what you will do daily to qualify you for entry to the new and greater door.
It is not easy when God closes a door, as many are hurt and some want to give up. I remember over sixteen years of managerial employment, in which I was treated as family, and in turn my family was neglected and great sacrifices were made to build up an organization, that came to nothing in one single day. (Can you imagine if God was getting these sacrifices?)
You may be the best worker; never late, always ready to do what is expected, etc, and then suddenly you receive a letter one day telling you your service is no longer required. All of a sudden, everything is interrupted in your life. The hurt, the grief, the bill, the regrets and the fears come rushing in. Everything has turned upside down.
You may be a tither, and thus you ask the question “What happened? This does not make sense.” Some of us sometimes become bitter, only to understand later that this was God forcing us into our purpose. If God does not allow doors to close, many times we would never know who we are and why we were created. i.e. purpose/assignment.
The following are solutions to quickly get you through the next door.
