We must understand that just as Herod and Pharaoh sought to kill the children in the days of old, it happens today! Herod and Pharaoh are not alive today, but the spirit of Herod and the spirit of Pharaoh still want to destroy our children today. Each time that we see these killings and deaths increase it indicates that we are on the verge of a significant change.
Within each child conceived there is an instruction that can bring a positive change to the environment and nation to which they are born. The cure for cancer, the answer to the debt problem, the solution to a national crisis to come, or the answer to a current problem could be within any of our children; and if they are killed, those solutions go with them! How many solutions have we lost already? Remember Josiah? God can use children even from the age of eight (8).
Parents, the Government, the Church, the Schools, Non-Governmental Organizations (NGO’s) and the Media need to re-evaluate their view and understanding of the importance of children in a nation! They need look at: how to teach them, how to bring out and encourage their gifts and talents, and how to invest in them; not just monetarily, but in every way!
The time has come for the nation to have a separate Ministry for Children and Family Affairs. It is one of the most important Ministries a nation needs, because without children, there is no continuation of or succession in the nation. The Lord once told me that 90% of the issues that exist now among leaders, including ‘dons’, start from their childhood! Some were raped, abused and for others their fathers never took care of them and they were never healed. As a result they and their decision-making are negatively affected.
What Are The Solutions
Teach them about the goodness of God morning, noon and night. There are benefits for doing so. (Deut. 6: 5 – 25; Deut. 4: 9 – 10)
Pray the whole armour of God over them daily. (Eph. 6: 10 - 20; Psalm 91)
Sow Seed, that is, give donations unto the Lord for your children. (Job 1: 1 – 5)
Spend time with them, learn about them and allow them to get to know you and your expectations of them.
Listen to them when they speak, do not push them away. Encourage them to talk to you. The old saying of ‘children should be seen and not heard’ is not a Biblical Principle.’
Ensure that your children are dedicated to God (the Almighty) and anointed with Olive Oil, not just sprinkled with water; and also ensure that they are given Godly or Biblical names.
Speak ‘life’ over them daily and declare what you want them to become. Death and life are in the power of the tongue. (Prov. 18: 21 – 22)
Teach the children about tithing, how to handle money and how to dress modestly – male and female. (Mal. 3: 8 – 10; Lev. 19; II Tim. 2: 9)
Parents must get to know the importance and significance of dreams and visions, and let them report to you those dreams and visions that they are receiving.
Teach them about the Fruit of the Spirit. (Gal. 5: 22)
Hug your children and tell them you love them – even if you had never received that expression of love – use the opportunity to break that cycle.
Let them study at least one (1) business-related subject in secondary level school it will help them understand basic economic principles.
Teach them to be vigilant when they enter tertiary level institutions – especially in choosing friends, movies, groups and so on.
Teach them about the dangers of sex outside of marriage, and the importance of seeking the Lord for their spouse.
Teach them about protocol in entering different environments and addressing different people.
