STEVE LYSTON | NOT TIME TO OPEN THE ECONOMY

Published by in Article ·

There is a debate concerning whether or not we should open the economy now.  There is division on this issue, and as President Trump declares the US Economy open, it is expected that many countries will follow the lead of the United States of America.

I believe we are in a time where God is speaking to global leaders that the way they do business and the way we lead can no longer work as we move forward.  We must change the way we operate in order to minimize losses or else create further spread of the virus and other potential plagues.

We must learn from Noah.  The flood lasted about 150 days, however, before Noah ventured out he sent two birds ahead – a dove and a raven.  The raven is a scavenger, so it feeds on dead flesh.  The dove is not, but instead, gravitates toward life.  When the raven did not return but the dove did, Noah knew that the raven had found dead flesh, so it was not safe to venture out.  However, when the dove returned with the olive branch in its beak, he knew that new life was springing up and that branch symbolized fertility.

New Covenant

Before the economy is reopened, the nation first needs to make a new covenant with God as Noah did, with repentance and thanksgiving.  This will avert a major recession in the nation.  We must now change our focus from greed to benevolence.  We could use the remainder of April and the month of May as a time of prayer and reflection and open the economy in June.  It will also be the time of Pentecost, where God will pour out His Spirit to deal with the greater problems ahead and the other pandemics that are slated to happen – skin and eye diseases that will break out.

The Danger of Opening Too Soon

There will be serious problems that will affect the airline industry.  So, the airline industry as well as others in the transportation industry, will need to properly service and sanitize airplanes, cars, buses ships and all methods of public transportation.  This will minimize the spreading of the disease locally and globally.  Going forward there will need to be proper and regular maintenance, in order to prevent catastrophe and sabotage.  It would also go a far way in protecting staff and passengers.

Attacks on the more vulnerable countries – those nations that suffered most during the pandemic.  There needs to be time for Rest, Regrouping and Refocus.  This will allow all involved to be better able to assess, evaluate, fortify and protect the communication systems, bridges, water supply systems, ports and so on.  Furthermore, the hurricane season is ahead and there needs to be adequate attention given to stockpiling, logistics and preparation.

Apocalyptic Events

It is critical for nation-leaders to understand the Times and Seasons and the relevance of the four horses and horsemen, particularly regarding The Pale Horse and its rider.  The Pale Horse is a symbol of disease, death, and devastation that will break out and brings with it issues such as the shortage of medication, ocean-related problems and the death of a significantly large number of fishes.
We must also prepare for global oil shortage and high oil prices, in addition to serious problems in Real Estate.
A nation that does not prepare will suffer greater problems ahead.  It is critical that we begin to build with God.  We must ensure that we don’t repeat our mistakes and avoid unnecessary crises.
The other 3 symbols of the Horses are also critical to our decision-making going forward.

The White Horse symbolizes international power and politics, more so in the form of military conquest and global deception. Many countries will be conquered through loans that they are borrowing from other countries. Warning for countries that keep borrowing loans. Many loans will be default and many countries will find themselves in trouble.

The Red Horse symbolizes civil war and strife – and this speaks for itself.

The Black Horse symbolizes economic disruption.  Inflation is imminent and many things will become scarce.  There will be labor problems, low wages and rampant starvation.

Ultimately, all indications tell us that we must not seek to move forward at any level without putting God first.
