Restoration World Outreach Ministries Inc. (RWOMI)’s has recently launched Mission Columbia. Although we have been in Columbia for the past two years assisting in counseling, emotional and spiritual support, we have started to work with a local organization in Columbia to meet the social needs, health, and well being of children, women and families. For sustainability of this project, we will need the assistance of organizations and other individual partners to facilitate and help to bring change to many in Columbia.
The vision of this foundation was found in the heart of La Iglesia Cuadrangular Carismatica (the name of the church) in Valledupar. The foundation was first located at the main branch, a stratus 4 neighbourhood - but unfortunately there were not enough persons who were coming due to the stratus. So, the foundation wanted to go to an inner-city community where more needed persons were. The foundation moved to a neighbourhood by the name of Divino niño where it is currently being run by La Iglesia Cristiana Cuadrangular –a sister church.
It is being led by Pastors Alcides Cardenas and Eraida Moscote, who were called by the Lord to show their love and bless the lives of these children who are living in deplorable conditions.
Approximately 70 children between the ages of 2 to 12 from low class communities mainly la Nevada and Divino Niño come daily to the foundation to be fed with a balanced meal. The majority of them do not receive this in their homes.
The students who study in the evenings normally arrive at 11:00 a.m. to receive their lunches and the students who normally study in the mornings arrive at 12:00 p.m.
The vision of the foundation desires to not limit itself to only providing lunch for children but further on to give them, pregnant women and the elderly breakfast and also to assist mothers through different programs.
Restoration World Outreach Ministries Inc. (RWOMI) has committed to assisting by providing food, counseling, education assistance in the form of tutoring, and clothing.
