STEVE LYSTON|YOUR CHOICE WILL DETERMINE ECONOMIC SURVIVAL

It has been said that after a storm there is a calm.  We are now going through the “Corona-storm” but the key to the calm is dependent on the choices each person will make.  Our decisions at the time of transition – where we will be coming out of the storm and into something new, will be critical to our economic survival.  It will not be business as usual; business practices and principles will not be as they usually are in the secular business environment.  The business sector must prepare for new storms and new challenges, and in order to survive, will need to first assess and evaluate the existing systems and procedures, economic doctrines and the blueprints.  It will come down to “What am I willing to do different?”  Are we willing to change our thinking regarding economic growth and practices?  Many are already saying, “when this is over and things will get back to normal” However, they will be faced with two (2) clear cut systems from which to choose.  First, the Babylonian system.  Second, the Biblical system.

Establishing New Covenants

Every leader must learn from Noah and the flood.  For one hundred and fifty (150) days – five (5) months, he floated on calm waters.  Noah did not rebuild until he used the raven and the dove to test how safe it was to proceed.

Every business person needs to understand the difference between and significance of the raven and the dove.  The raven is a scavenger and deals with the dead, unclean, even the rotting things.  However, the dove symbolizes life, clean things, as well as direction, growth, vision, wisdom and all the positive aspects of existence.  So, it is critical that as we attempt to rebuild, we begin to establish new covenants with God for a fresh start.

Noah turned to farming, and farming will be key to the things that lie ahead.  Every Leader must, like Noah:

  • Learn about Seedtime and harvest.

  • Understand the principle of Times and Seasons

  • Understand Breaches in Covenants/Contracts have serious consequences

  • Understand that man is accountable to God for His successes or failures

  • Understand that upholding moral laws are very important to growth and development

  • Understand God’s expectations of his/her stewardship regarding earthly resources.

Hard Times Ahead

There are many who speaking about climate change as if some of what they are proposing will change anything and protect us from the disaster that lies ahead.

For us to minimize losses and damage from disasters, we must look at Lifestyle changes.  Any other changes will be meaningless.  We must be true to ourselves as business people and determine whether or not God is pleased with our stewardship.  Were we building without God?  Genesis 11 reminds us of what takes place when we build without God.

For companies to weather the storms ahead, their leaders must learn about the importance of Fasting, Tithing, Sowing/Giving, Faith and Obedience.  God made the economy before He made man, therefore, man must begin to learn from the principles of God.  Now more than ever, it is important for us to stock up on food and water.  Furthermore, there will be a shortage of oil, so oil prices will increase significantly.  There will also be food shortages, so we must plant corn and vegetables.

  • We must continue to store vaccines and baby food.

  • We must burn coal again.

  • We must also prepare for a major skin disease pandemic

  • We must also actively engage in tree planting while removing older trees for coal-burning.

  • We must have more food processing companies to prepare foods for preservation.

  • We must establish more storage and manufacturing businesses.

  • We must invest more in the Health industry to establish clinics in order to help the poor, as they will be the most vulnerable within a nation.

  • Companies must move away from the old ways of employing people.  They must consider the gifts and talents rather than the academic qualifications.  Each person is created with gifts and talents to deal with all the problems we will face ahead.

If companies decide to learn and change, then they will weather the storms ahead.

Those in the communications industry must be wise in terms of data and data storage as there may be great losses in the future.
